Not ready to adopt?
Foster for a weekend.

Some dogs just need a real couch and a quiet house to remember who they are. You give a weekend. They give you everything they've got. Nobody's keeping score — but a lot of fosters turn into adopters.

About DesertRescue

A sun-weathered sanctuary
on the edge of the desert.

We started in 2014 with a borrowed truck and a stretch of fence outside Tucson. We were pulling dogs out of the desert — strays, surrenders, the ones who'd been forgotten at the end of a long summer.

Twelve years later we're still doing the same thing, just with more hands. Our sanctuary sits on four acres of high desert scrub. Every dog gets a kennel with a window, a yard rotation, and at least two volunteers a day who know their name.

We don't rush placements. We wait for the right match. That's why our adoption retention rate is 98% — and why 847 families still send us photos.
